09/03/2010 - DHH suspends license of Shreveport abortion clinic - BATON ROUGE — The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals today issued a notice of license revocation to Hope Medical Group for Women in Shreveport and ordered the clinic to immediately cease performing abortions after an investigation found violations that posed significant health and safety risks to clients. The immediate suspension of the facility’s license came under legislation signed this year by Gov. Bobby Jindal that gives the Department authority to immediately suspend an abortion facility’s license under certain circumstances.
 
09/03/2010 - Seven New Confirmed Cases of West Nile Virus - BATON ROUGE — The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals has confirmed seven new human cases of West Nile Virus, bringing this year’s total to 19. The seven new cases come from East Baton Rouge and Ascension Parishes. These cases are reported in DHH’s weekly Louisiana Arbovirus Surveillance Summary which can be found in the Surveillance Reports Section of the DHH Web site.
 
09/02/2010 - The Cameron Parish Health Unit has Reopened - BATON ROUGE - Two years after suffering extensive damage and being shut down following Hurricane Ike, the Cameron Parish Health Unit is back in business. This morning the facility reopened at its original location, 107 Recreation Center Lane in Cameron.
